The American Dream
In general the phrase The American Dream is used to refer to the desire of freedom. This for other countries could mean something as simple as what they are allowed to wear or it could mean better jobs with better pay. For Americans this has now been translated to the desire of success, the desire of money, and the ability to do with the money as one wishes. In USA everything is suppose to be better, and in some ways it is, but the country its self is not as great as it seems. We are in a huge debt crisis in which the country is taking money from its citizens with promises of later benefits, but in reality we are soon going to be paying out more than we take in. America is the place to become successful but one will need money to achieve anything.

i Agree with you on your defeniton of the American Dream. How the most important part of the American Dream is Freedom. Everyone wants to be free and live their lives being happy.

If you went to another country and asked what their dream is they would say to be free. Also how you said having a good job and steady income.It's hard to live if you dont have money in your poket. There is nothing free in this world, so have to work for it. Also you said being successful is important,i think that is true. I think that's everyones goal in life.
America is in a huge debt crisis, and on my first post there is a link on there that has the amount of debt we have, increasing every second. It is really kind of scary to think that this power country we are in, is actually in so much debt we will never get out, and taxes will always rise. You are right when you mentioned that we will soon be paying out more than we earn. People can definitly become successful, but the more you earn, the more you pay out.
ReplyDeletei do think its an issue that we are in debt as a nation. however, this has not affected as many people as one may think. i have not been hurt by this and no one that i have spoken to his hurting by our situation. i feel as though its just a gossip topic. but maybe i will change my mind if it ever does affect my life.
